As he enters, I make my exit.
A choreographed ballet of avoidance.
I close my eyes so I can see
I close my mouth so I can speak
But I will not close my mind
I will think
My thoughts are mine
Everything I do inside my head
Outside is paralysis, I cannot move
My body has stopped functioning
I am only my consciousness
Nothing more, nothing less, nothing else
I dance my dance of paralysis.
Hey Incy,
ReplyDeleteI´ve posted on your wall and mine. Your words are still reaching your friends on your page : ) (for now at least).
This poem is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt´s funny. It could be applied to a range of contexts. A bully, a domestic violence situation. A lot of people (sadly) would relate to this poem I think.
I love the:
¨I close my eyes so I can see,
I close my mouth so I can speak
But I will not close my mind¨
¨Everything I do inside my head¨ - That is both sad and hopeful. Strong willed yet stuck. Paralysed as you say.
This was a moving poem for me.
